Odd Shot Monday - The Lazy Cat

Our cat Panda has a bad habit to bring mice in the house mostly at night - to play with them. This is not only a nightmare for the mice, it's for us too. Can you imagine: you are sleeping deeply and suddenly you wake up because in the kitchen is something weird going on. Bangs, tweets, scratching and then some silence. And then the noice again. And again. *

Panda is not very bloodthirsty and active, she just want to play a little...and the mice use cat's lazyness to hide.

This time we came up and I took my camera. The mouse was just climbing behind the heating element. And the cat was not looking at the hiding mouse but...who knows where and what!

Lazy cat!

"Take it easy", Panda said, "I have all the night here to play"...

But Panda did not know that the next wall had places where she can't go but the mouse can. So we had the perspective to get a mouse hiding and living in the kitchen...

I took the grill-grate and tried to frighten the mouse out. But it did not come. So I took the grate out of the ditch between the wall and the heating element - and there it was: between two grates, voluntary ready to grill.
We opened the window and opened the device - the mouse falled on the lawn. The cat jumped after.

Soon the cat was back - heading to our bedroom, the mouse in her mouth. That time the mouse was dead.

Hiir ronis just sel hetkel elektriradiaatori taha. Laisk kass!

I think I'm glad that I'm not allowed to have cats by doctor's orders!

Panda is such a beautiful cat, but cats do play with mice and kill them. And you just can't have a mouse in the kitchen!
Poor mouse!

Your Panda is beautiful!! And you seem so calm about the mouse! Our Sundance always had to bring his prey home to be admired, and everyone learned quickly that if he was crying in that way, to NOT open the door, just stand there and admire for three minutes, after which he would go and eat it. He used to wake me in the middle of the night to admire. His big sister was named Panda too. They are both gone now.
